Job Description Crane Work Preparator:
Preparation of preventive, corrective, extra-ordinary maintenance, and minor maintenance modification work packs considering time, resources, materials, and supporting equipment/tools in line with HSE policies and procedures of the asset.
Tasks and Responsibilities as Crane Work Preparator:
- Prepare work packs in SAP and compile hardcopy work packs where necessary.
- Meet the maintenance requirements and AMS standards of scope set by the discipline or asset.
- Liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding innovation, cost reduction solutions, and identify areas where suitable improvements can be made.
- Challenge, where appropriate, the existing standards.
- Ensure all work to be executed complies with the offshore HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and Quality responsibilities.
- Support and assist the Maintenance Team leader, Maintenance Supervisor, and Execution Team in their responsibilities/ duties as described below.
- Role model in safe work preparation and safe working practices.
- Completion of site surveys to resolve queries, check scope, and aid preparation.
- Responsible for the content of the work packs for the execution workforce.
- Assist with the resolving of conflicts between simultaneous jobs at the execution location in order to meet asset targets.
- Liaise with repair contractors, manufacturers, vendors and engineering department where necessary.
- Ensure integrity of data stored in maintenance support systems such as SAP are maintained and accurate.
- Liaise with Maintenance Team Lead and/or Maintenance Supervisor regarding cost reduction solutions and identify areas where suitable improvements can be made.
- Identify proposed engineering changes, repairs, or constructions that are not like for like and escalate/implement management of change processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Specific Requirements for the Mechanical Work Preparator:
Education & Experience
- Industry experience
- Knowledge of Diesel Engines, Cranes, hydraulics, and control systems.
- A proactive attitude aimed at issue resolution and support to scope execution.
- Qualified to minimum of HNC in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Offshore certified (UKOOA Medical, BOSIET/FOET c/w CAEBS)
- Computer literate.
- Cost awareness and ability to challenge costs and non-value adding activities
Location: Great Yarmouth
Hours: 40 hours
Contract: Permanent Position
Working arrangement: Great Yarmouth Office/Hybrid working/offshore visits*
Offshore visits for survey etc. expected to be at up to 4 days per month.
