Job Description Designer with Stork:

 

Provide design and draughting support to the Engineering Hub and the wider company. Support will be in the form of completing design projects, creating bespoke mechanical and structural designs and delivering 2D and 3D CAD work in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Ensure all deliverables, such as drawings, storyboards, schematics and procedures are fully compliant in-line with current legislation, company procedures and industry standards.

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities as Designer:

 

 

Design

 

  • To interpreted client specifications and requirements.
  • To survey and accurately measuring mechanical components, pipework and/or structural fabrications.
  • To work with engineering team and/or product lines to produce conceptual designs for clients and progress through to detailed design.
  • To assist in the development of new products through all Technology Readiness Levels.
  • To interface with manufacturing facilities and suppliers to ensure Stork’s manufacturing needs are satisfied and work produced to Stork’s high quality standards.
  • To provide innovational engineering and design assistance relating to all aspects of the Stork business.

 

 

CAD

 

  • To create storyboards for onshore/offshore work-packs.
  • To produce mechanical detail drawings, incorporating associated dimensioning and tolerancing techniques.
  • To produce structural fabrication drawings, incorporating associated dimensioning and tolerancing techniques.
  • To produce hydraulic and electrical schematics as well as piping Isometric drawings.
  • Compliance with Drawing Office drawing control procedures.
  • To liaise with Project teams in order to generate manufacture quality drawings that meet client’s requirements and satisfy Stork’s commercial and technical requirements.
  • To be responsible for all information on drawings are correct and complete checking drawings contents and BOM’s issued are to current standards.
  • To maintain drawing archives & accurate up to date drawing registers

 

 

Document Control

 

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all code, standards and regulations.
  • Retain accurate records of work undertaken
  • Assist in any tenders and audits

Specific Requirements for the Designer:

 

Education & Experience

 

Education

 

  • HNC or higher in engineering or design disciplines

 

 Experience and Skills 

 

  • Experience as a designer or draughts-person advantageous.
  • Working knowledge in Autodesk Inventor 3D software package.
  • Competent user of Autodesk 2D AutoCAD software package.
  • Computer literate with experience in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Good attention to detail and diligent.
  • Capable of working as part of a team as well as with minimum supervision.
  • A clear and concise commitment to providing quality service delivery standards, responsive to business demands.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals outside of the Company
